Alicia El Haj, our Managing Director, is recognised for her contribution to tech

We are immensely proud to announce that despite facing some incredibly strong competition from other nominees, our Co-Founder and Managing Director, Alicia El Haj, has won the Midlands Women In Tech Awards 2021 Academic Award!

Beyond our own pride in having Alicia’s accomplishments recognised, we would also like to congratulate the other four nominees (Burcu Can; Dr. Sarah Jones; Lucy Bastin; Reham Badawy) for their inspirational contributions to their respective academic fields. We only hope that these awards will inspire other young women to get involved and realise that they too can enjoy a dynamic, exciting and innovative career in technology. We’re incredibly proud of the fact that 75% of MICA’s shareholders are inspirational women such as Alicia, and we truly believe that seeing existing success stories inspires future generations to strive for further innovation.

If Alicia’s and the other nominees' successes have inspired you to pursue a career in technology then do reach out to hear more about the career opportunities here at MICA Biosystems.

News of Alicia’s success could not have come at a more exciting time for us. In line with the Midlands Women in Tech Awards’ belief in the revolutionary innovation currently occurring in the technology sector, we are moving towards clinical trials of our Remote Controlled Stem Cell Therapy. Working with Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult, we’re getting ready to approach the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency account link to start moving into Phase 1 Clinical Trials.

If you would like to learn more about these trials or our existing Dynagrow™ platform then please do not hesitate to get in touch with a member of our team who will happily answer any queries you may have, or provide you with additional information.

Congratulations, again, to Alicia and all the other winners (Dr Oluwatobi Adesanya; Amelia Westbury; Safina Begum; Helen Routledge; Claire Owen; Jane Ellis; Elizabeth; Kari Lawler) of the Midlands Women in Tech Awards 2021. We cannot wait to see where each of your contributions leads the technology industry in the coming years!
